Getting ready to purchase two youth, 2nd class Eurail Global Passes. When I look at the Rick Steve's train map it seems to indicate that Brussels to Amsterdam is covered on this pass, but another post indicated it was not. Also, how do I reserve a night train with couchette when I have a pass? When I look at reservation sites they seem to be full fair. Or do we have to reserve these at the station?
Much thanks in advance!
We had the global pass last year and are using it again for our trip next week and had no problems getting from Belgium (Brugge) to Amsterdam. In fact, we will be doing it again this year! (we were traveling with the 1st class pass so I'm not certain if there is a difference.) As far as sleeper cars, we never booked in advance as we never knew where we were going until the day of. Wanted to leave everything open in case we wanted to stay longer or bounce sooner. We had no problems booking our sleeper cars at the train stations the morning of. This might be different for couchettes though.
