When purchasing a global pass for 15 days within 2 months, when do you select the days on which you will travel?

The pass will come with 15 fields where you fill in the date just before boarding the first train that day. That "cancels" one day of the pass. Be sure to use European order, day/month/year (today is 8/3/12). Warning: Europeans make numbers differently than ours. The 1 looks like a droopy 7 (or an upside down V with a short left leg. Seven has a crossbar. Some people (reportedly) have entered a 7 (without the crossbar) and the conductor claimed it was a 1, and that the pass had already been used for a day on the 1st of the month and needed to be cancelled for that day, the seventh.
