EU to Toronto via Dublin

Looking for clarification. We are US citizens flying from Brussels to Toronto via Dubin (Aer Lingus all on one ticket). It looks like we would just transfer airside in Dublin and go through immigration and customs in Toronto (driving back to US). Everything I can find just addresses US preclearance from Dublin - having trouble getting info about arrival in Canada. Is this correct? Thank you

Do you have Global Entry? If so, you may be able to bypass the long lines and use the Nexus line at Pearson Intl, Toronto.
Otherwise your logic seems correct.

As far as Canadian Immigration is concerned you will be visiting Canada, even if it is just a quick drive through to the border. It’s been a while since I have flown into Canada from overseas so procedures might have changed, but assuming they haven’t, on the plane you will be handed a customs card to complete. You hand that in with your passport to Immigration at Pearson. it is stamped and handed back to you and then you head to pick up your baggage. Customs is easy, just walk through nothing to declare exit and hand to the official standing there the customs form. Canada goes not operate preclearance centres overseas.
