ETIAS will be free for seniors and kids

I was just checking online to see if there were any updates on the ETIAS, and was scrolling through the facts page when I happened to see this:

When applying using this official ETIAS website, you will be charged a fee of EUR 20. Applicants who are under 18 or over 70 years of age are exempt from this payment. You are also exempt if you are a family member of an EU national and you fulfil the conditions to qualify for family member status.

And yes, I know it's not yet in effect and is scheduled to take effect in the last quarter of 2026 (I'll believe that when I see it) but it is nice to know that I won't have to pay for it. 😊

Me either! It’s good to be old. Well, sometimes.

Thanks, Mardee!

Only 68, which is the new 48, NO freebie yet.

Given the history of this program, you may not have to pay when it does go into effect.
