If you use this site you will be able to compare times and costs, it will be a trade off between the two. Be aware that walk up train tickets are very expensive so if possible book well in advance. You can also get special fares for bus travel.

Other issues, trains are faster and not subject to hold ups unless there is track maintenance work, but even then generally faster than by road. They are also more comfortable in that you can, of course, leave your seat to stretch your legs during the journey.
