Hi,
Has anyone taken this overnight train and if so was it worth the money to have a private room or are the recylining seats sufficiant for the trip.

Can you get a good night's rest in a reclining chair?
I took this route when I was in my early 20's, and did it in the chairs. No trouble back then.
Now I'm 40. I pay for beds, but still love overnight train travel. I do recommend you take the overnight, whatever you choose about the bed.
I'd say your own durability to chair sleeping is the deciding factor.
