Electronic Ticket?

Hi all!

I purchased my flight online through the airline (best price, seat reservation). I've received an email with the confirmation number, my info, and the itinerary. Is this the ticket or is that sent later? I read the article here on the site but it doesn't appear to be the same thing...

I'm a first time flyer and any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Please call and make sure you have seat assignments as well. Although not likely, if your flight is oversold and bumping does occur, they bump those without seat assignments first. If you have them, it is far more difficult for them to bump you.

That is all you need. All you need to do when you leave is print out your confirmation. Hand it and your passport to the check-in clerk at the airport and you'll be on your way.

I always print out about 3 e-tickets....just in case 1 gets misplaced.

Renny: It's a good idea to make sure you have an extra copy of the printout of your e-ticket to give to the check-in clerk at the return airport in Europe, just in case.

Thanks for all the info you guys - I'm a new traveler so this is just the first of my questions. I love your idea about the multiple copies - I'm a fan of redundancy!

Thanks again, guys!

You might also want to check to see if the airline offers online check in. I printed our boarding passes the night before, then upon check-in I handed those to the clerk. She ran them under a scanner to check us in (plus checking the passports to match) and then printed another set of boarding passes so I had extras in my carry-on in case one of us lost one.

Also, may need to have the credit card available that was used to charge the tickets. I have been asked for the card on a couple of occassions.
