New here! Does anyone have any suggestion on the best way to get from Edinburgh to St Andrews and how long the trip is?

While I haven't made the trip myself, I've read enough to be familiar with the route by train. The closest train station to St. Andrews is Leuchars. It's one hour from Edinburgh to Leuchars. From there it's a very short bus ride to St. Andrews. For timetables and fares for the train portion, go to www.nationalrail.co.uk.
