check out Easyjet from Luton to CDG; prices from 30 pounds, just picked a date in June since you didn't say when you needed to go.

If you book well in advance (up to 120 days allowed) at www.eurostar.com, you can get return (roundtrip) tickets for €75. Is that too expensive for you?

Christine, the overnight Eurolines coach got us to Paris very early in the morning and I do mean early. The Metro had just started to run so I guess it was 5:00am or so. If you can possibly manage the Eurostar it would be so much better.

Look into AirFrance from LHR to CDG. I bought r/t tickets 3 weeks before a 2010 August departure for less than $200 (~150€).

Norma, Overnight Eurolines coaches now leave London at 21:00, 21:30, and 22:00. The first one arrives at 06:45. The next two both arrive at 07:30. Christine, If I were to travel by coach, I'd do it overnight, either both ways or at least one way, to have more daylight hours for sightseeing and to save the cost of a night in a hotel.

Eurolines coaches, besides being on the lower step of the "transportation ladder" in Europe (maybe only above the dirty - literally - (and) cheap charter Eastern European buses), usually have seats with less pitch than an airplane. I don't think the idea of an overnight travel to "save daylight for sightseeing" would work. Better buy in advance an Eurostar-return. Buy them on the French site, it is sometimes cheaper.

Eurolines coaches are of a certain standard, and usually aren't too bad. It's not too far from London to the ferry, and you will be able to stretch your legs for the crossing. Calais to Paris is quite a long tedious drive, and may be hard work.

By picking a random date, I got a €75,00 R/T fare...2nd class and no exchange/no refund. But, they're €37,50 each way...Are your dates firm?
