Easyjet flights

I am considering flying Easyjet from Rome to Palermo. Has anyone used Easyjet in Italy? It appears that they have strict carryon rules and you have to prepay for "excess weight" when you book your ticket to get the best rates if you have more than 1 piece. I'm going to have a little rolling bag and my purse/daybag. Any input? Thanks.

You would need to fit your purse/daybag inside of your rolling bag as they only allow one item to be carried on. If you don't think you can do that and stay within the guidelines, then you are best to pay to check a bag when you book your ticket. Easyjet also lets you check-in online starting 30 days in advance.

Barbara, Yes, I've used EasyJet in the past, and will be using them again from Rome to Palermo on my trip this fall. I've always found dealing with them to be "easy" and pleasant. "It appears that they have strict carryon rules and you have to prepay for "excess weight" when you book your ticket to get the best rates if you have more than 1 piece" That's not something that's unique to EasyJet. Most of the budget airlines have very strict luggage rules. I always check my large Pack and pay extra at the time of booking to ensure that it won't be over the allowed weight limit. Regarding carry-on items, that's also something that's standard with many carriers in Europe. Usually only ONE carry-on item is allowed. That doesn't mean "one plus a personal item such as a Purse or Laptop case", it means ONE ONLY of the approved size (and they usually check the sizing at check-in and often again at the gate). Unless you can fit your "purse/daybag" inside your "little rolling bag", you should be prepared to check it. Happy travels!
