Easyjet contact information

I tried to book a flight from Paris to Venice on easyjet.com, but kept getting an error code saying that "something went wrong" with the transaction. I e-mailed customer service, and they said to call, so I did. I've called this number from the site: (011) 44 843 104 5454 but cannot get through! Has anyone else had this issue? Since this is happening, I've been considering going with ryanair, but I just think it will be a hassle due to extra travel time to Paris Beauvais airport, and them from Venice Treviso airport, plus the extra expense.
Has anyone made this flight with ryanair? Was it difficult? Thanks.

Audra, The problems you're experiencing seem very unusual. I've never had any issues booking with EasyJet, and have just booked another flight with them. The credit card transaction went through immediately. My recommendation would be to avoid RyanAir at all cost. The flight with them won't be as cheap as first indicated and the hassles will be considerably more. A few suggestions that you might try..... > Try clearing the Cache and Cookies on your PC. That's sometimes the source of problems. > Which internet provider are you using? I've heard of a few problems occurring with some of U.S. networks. > Are you using a Verified by Visa card? Try that one first after "cleaning" the computer. > If you have a co-operative friend, try using their computer to make the booking (preferably someone that uses a different internet provider). Good luck!

Try +44 843 104 5000 as an alternative number.

Well that's their number. It usually works. Does your calling plan allow international calls? Usually that error is because the charge is being stopped by their bank. Did you notify your bank of the upcoming transaction? It would be a shame to sacrifice a decent Easyjet flight from a good Paris airport to a close Venice airport - - - to a Ryanair flight from the "Paris" airport in the middle of nowhere to the more remote Venice airport. I bet you can get your problem solved...

Thanks for the replies. I'm using a prepaid phone card on a phone I've used before to make international calls with the same card. I don't know why the call won't go through. Maybe I should try the call on a different phone.

'843' is a special service code - it isn't a 'regular' number. It may not be covered by your card as within the UK it is more expensive to call.

That may have been it. I was able to call from a different phone without the card. I went through the whole booking but NONE of my credit cards were accepted on their end! The agent said that there must be a problem with their system (she tried about 4 credit cards). She said I should try back at a later time to see if the problem is resolved. Then she put me on hold to try another computer, and the call was dropped! I'm very frustrated. I really don't want to book with ryanair after reading about the extra fees they have for things. Maybe vueling???
Any suggestions???

Audra, Did you call your bank to let them know that you would be making a purchase from a company in the UK? It could be your bank that is blocking the charge. At the very least, if you call them you can find out if the charge went all the way through to your bank.

I've made overseas purchases already with this credit card and on the same computer...

Try a different browser. As you'll see on this thread, I was able to get on a website with Firefox, while another user could only get to the same site using Internet Explorer (so, there's not one browser that's "better").

I've made overseas purchases already with this credit card and on the same computer... Yes, but did you call your credit card company anyway? For example, this year, I made two internet travel purchases overseas without notifying my credit card company and they went through fine. Then I went to make a third (hotel booking) and the charge was blocked. Sometimes card companies block a certain type of transaction or have a threshold. So check with them just to make sure that they are not blocking the charge. Almost every year, I have this problem when I don't call before I start booking things. Some charges will go through and then I will hit something where the charge gets blocked and have to talk to the credit card company.

That was the problem! I was able to book the flight online after speaking to my credit card company. Thanks! A good lesson learned!

Good point Laura; I had the same problem. I finally dumped my "verified by VISA" option, and now all of my overseas Credit Card purchases are working "OK".
