My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe in Sept, and I am looking for cheap flights from London to Prague, Prague to Paris, and Rome to Athens. Easy Jet seems to be the least expensive, but I have read horrible reviews online regarding their customer service availability, cancellation of flights, and flight delays. Does anyone know what percentage of their flights are cancelled or delayed? We are on a tight itinerary, and don't want to take a chance on getting stuck in one city when we have a hotel reservation in another.
Can't point you to the data, however, have been using Easyjet for 5+ years, and have never had a problem--now Ryan air, on the other hand, is a different story--from my experience only. Have never experienced a cancellation, only late flight was out of Patterborn because of snow clearing, and have used the website to make changes and/or cancellations. Incidentally, they did recently e-mail me about a time change on my flight from Palermo to Rome. I will say that I doubt if you can make a connection under 3 hours from one Easyjet flight to another because you have to pick up your bags and re-check them and yourselves. For example, once flew from man to cdg, then cdg to Milan(2 different tickets), so I went to the Hilton and used the business center for a couple of hours and went back to Terminal 3.
Here's a sampling of Easyjet's ontime performance record for a period of Dec 15, 2009-February 15, 2010.
Easyjet's On-Time Performance
Considering the time period, and knowing what the weather was like in Europe during that period, I wouldn't be surprised to believe many of the delays or diversions were weather related.
Thanks everyone for the very helpful information. I feel much better about using easy jet. I will book these 3 flights with them.
Frank is right about the weather during that period. Around Christmas Time Easyjet was having to cancel 90-100 flights a day due to weather at Luton and other regional airports.
Have used Easyjet for years including last year and have never had a problem....
