Have you taken these flights? Are they reliable? Have you had problems with the luggage limits? (I can't tell if they're draconian or not.) Thanks.
I've never used Vueling, but I have done an Easyjet flight out of Madrid. They're not bad. Flight was 100% on time, crew was nice, very uneventful flight, which is what you want, right? They aren't quite as restrictive as, say, Ryanair, for baggage, but I would still check the website really carefully to make sure you understand all the regulations. Also, you have to pay for all food, etc, on the plane, but if you ask nicely they will give you a cup of water for free instead of having to buy the bottled water. I'd definately use them again.
Used both airlines...it's a tossup, altho Vueling's aircraft are a bit newer. Check the websites for their luggage restrictions since they change, but basically Vueling charges 5 Euro per bag (10 Euro if at checkin), max. 20 kg checked luggage (44 lbs). One piece of hand luggage, up to 10 kg (22 lbs) no more than 55x40x20cm (21.6x15.75x7.9in). easyjet is about the same, except they charge 7.50 Euro per bag at web purchase...again, more if you wait until checkin....altho they have an "unlimited" cabin baggage policy (but they won't help you hoist it into the o/head bin!)
Vueling is a Spanish carrier and I like their service just a bit more.
Should you take Vueling - upon check request row 12 - exit row - a bit more room.
The luggage restrictions have been changing lately for both the carriers - I would recommend check the websites.
Vueling charged us 2.50 Euros each for checked bags when we booked our flights with them (flight is from Rome to Paris).
Unfortunately, as I mentioned, Vueling now charges 5 euro for each checked bag.
Even though the site says 5 Euros, they still charged us only 10 Euros total for four bags.
