Easy Jet luggage policies

Hi,

I was thinking of using Easy Jet airlines for our Rome to
Paris segment in June.

I would appreciate if someone could clarify their luggage
policies.

My understanding is you can bring aboard one carryon
(can be a purse or a carryon luggage 18" or less in length)...the weight will NOT be a major factor.

You are allowed to check in up to 6? luggages or items
so long as the total checked in weight doesn't exceed
20 kilos (44 lbs.) EACH checked in (HOLD) item will be
charged a fee. AND if the checked in items exceed the
20 kilos, you will be charged a hefty penalty fee at
the airport check in counter...OR you can purchase additional weight when you're booking online.

My daughter is studing abroad in Florence, Italy. Before
she left the USA she brought her 24", 21" and 18" tote.
...AND because of her extra school supplies and some purchases..she is asking us to bring her another 21" luggage...all of which I'm sure will be way over the 20
kilos limit (44 lbs.).

Any suggestions on how I can figure out what we may be charged? Would it be a better idea to stuff alot of her
items in a soft canvas type carryon and bring it aboard?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't know where you got your information but here's Easyjet's baggage policy taken from their website:

Baggage Allowances

Each passenger is permitted

* one standard piece of hand baggage to maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm, and
* Up to 8 pieces of checked-in hold baggage to a maximum combined weight of 20kg. A fee per kilo for excess weight is charged at the airport prior to departure

Which means one carry on piece with dimensions up to:

21.6 x 15.7 x 7.8 inches.

Up to 8 pieces of checked in luggage with a total up to 44 lbs.

Here's Easyjet's Baggage Page

Each kilo (2.2 lbs) of excess weight over 44 lbs will incur a 12 euro fee in addition to whatever you pay for each piece of checked luggage when you book your flight. It's cheaper to book checked luggage (number of pieces, not weight) when you make your reservations rather than wait until you get to the airport, so know how many pieces you will have before getting your tickets.

Like Nancy said, definitely add the bags during the ticket purchase. I ended up having to pay $70 for two checked bags when they wouldn't allow us to carry-on our 21" Rick Steves Convertibles

Otter, I'm guessing your 21" RS cases were wheeled ones. There should be no reason why a non-wheeled RS bag needs to be check on Easyjet.
