easy jet delay?

Booked a flight on easy jet from Split to Amsterdam, leaving 910am, arrive Amsterdam 1125am. Our separate KLM flight from AMS-Seattle leaves 255pm. I flew out of Dubrovnik to Milan, Italy once and our flight was delayed an hour or so. The flight was scheduled to leave at 1pm, didn't leave til 2pm. Should we rebook the Split flight to a day or two early just to be sure? I assumed that if our flight was a morning flight, it couldn't be delayed since 9am flight is probably the first flight out of Split. I thought if we missed the AMS flight we could fly standby, but I purchased our tickets on airfare.com and they have a no show no change no refund policy. What do you think? There is a $122 change fee, and the sooner flight is less anyways. I know it's hard to predict...

When I am flying on an 'non protected' connection I want a MININUM of 4 hours and one other way to get to the airport! IMHO this is really cutting it close. If you miss the AMS flight you MAY be able to fly standby, but.... that does not mean "the next filght" that means the next flight they have SEATS on that they don't sell.... That often is several days! I am doing this from London next month and am flying in the night before on the 'next to last flight' Gives me several options if it's delayed.

I would suggest a lot more time between flights since EasyJet is often delayed and not by just a few minutes.

Disagree with Bob; have flown them several times over the last 5 years with no problems at all, sometimes flying 2 separate legs(MAN-CDG,CDG-FCO) because it was cheaper than going direct. In fact, this last trip this May, we flew Gatwick to Pisa at 1125 and arrived early! I live them and AirBerlin for inter EU trips!

Since neither airline will have any sympathy for you if the Easyjet flight is delayed, I would allow extra time. Its probably fine to book the earlier flight though.

Besides a delayed flight you also might run into Easyjet changing the schedule, which happened to me on my last trip. They did give a free re-booking option, though. Personally, I'd fly into Milan the day before, but I have more time than money, and don't like stress.

Thanks to everyone's responses...I will go ahead and book the earlier flight which is unfortunately 2 days before, not a day early. But if that get's changed then at least I have a day cushion! Plus, it means we'll get to stay in Amsterdam for 2 nights, fun! Haven't been there for awhile!
