Easy Jet & Click Air question

"Hold bags" does mean checked luggage. On some airlines there is a discount of the checked bags fee if you book it at the time you buy tickets. I'm not sure if that's the case with Easy Jet. Your bag will fit Easy Jet's requirements for carryon sizewise. It's worded oddly, but apparently your total weight limit is a combination of your carryon and hold luggage, maximum of 20 kg for everything together. You can only have one carryon piece. Make sure you don't go over the weight limit because there is a charge for each kilo over the limit.

I have no personal experience with Click Air, but here is what their website says about baggage:

The hand luggage permitted on board may consist of one piece, the dimensions of which (height x width x length) may not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 and whose total weight may not exceed 10 Kg, provided that no other governmental or policing regulations determine additional restrictions that shall be obligatory in any case.

Each passenger is likewise allowed to carry on, at no extra charge and under his exclusive responsibility:

One ladies handbag or one small briefcase
One coat, one cloak or one travelling blanket
One umbrella or cane
One pair of crutches
One photographic/video camera or binoculars
One laptop computer

Click Air also charges extra for bags that you don't declare as checked baggage when you buy your ticket.

Thank's Nancy, I guess I didn't see that about the carryon. Maybe we will check one that we will expand and put all the excess stuff in and just have one backpack carryon for hubby, and I'll carry the small back pack. Sure hate to get to the gate and have to pay extra.

Click Air allows a carryon and a "personal item" but their carryon weight limit is 10 kg. Just make sure you watch your weights, checked or not.

Marylee, I would assume that your pack is a check-in.

From Luton to Paris, EasyJet did't let me carry on my 19" duffelbag, but did let me take on my school backpack. The backpack barely fit under my seat, so I could see why they made me check in the duffel.

I took EasyJet for two flights within Europe recently and had the 9x14x21 bag thinking it would go as "carry-on." Nope. I had to pay 15 Eu to check it each time. If I had paid to check it when I bought my internet tix it would have cost half as much. Not only that, but I had to go to a separate station in the airport to pay the extra fees and then return for my boarding pass. People with smaller carry-ons had no problem. I'm thinking of buying one of the smaller bags, or not using EasyJet. There really is less overhead room on the EasyJet planes, so it is a space problem. and, of course, all the airlines are working at maximizing their incomes.

Well I guess I better just pay up front for the bag to check in. What about

i just flew on Click Air last Friday. From BCN to LIS. The limit is 20kg to check and 10kg to carryon. They did weigh my checked luggage as well as my carryon. I made the limits. Barely. There was a girl in front of me who's checked bag was over the limit so they sent her an office down the way to make a payment. They held her boarding pass at check in counter. She had to return with proof of payment slip for the overweight luggage and then they gave her the boarding card.
it has been my experience that all these budget airlines have similar luggage limits and they WILL charge you if you are over!

also - meant to add to note the difference between paying for right to bring on X amount of bags AND having to pay for overweight luggage.
for instance, i also traveled on Vueling last week. when booking, you can pay 5 euro for each suitcase you will check. it costs more to pay this at the checkin counter. So that fee is there no matter what if you are checking bags. PLUS...there may be another charge if your bags are over the weight limit. make sense???

Thanks Christy, I just booked the flight and checked the bags on both airlines, that way I won't have to worry about it. It's still cheaper than taking the train, so it's okay. Thanks everyone!
