Trying to decide between the Gatwick Express service from central London to Gatwick Airport at about 18 pounds--versus the Easy Bus at about 3 pounds. Anyone have any problems with the Easy Bus? Thanks for any input.

If saving money is paramount and you have time for a long ride, then take the bus. However, the Gatwick Express is not your only train option. You can take a Southern train from Victoria to Gatwick. The standard fare is £10.00. An advance purchase discount fare can be as low as £5.00. Or you can take a First Capital Connect train from St Pancras International, Farringdon, City Thameslink, London Blackfriars, or London Bridge. The standard fare is £9.90.

The only other reason for picking Easy Bus might be if you are staying in the Earls Court area where its drop off / pick up is.

I am planning a trip to London in December - and might travel directly from Gatwick to Stansted airport. Did you end up using the Easy busy? Would love to hear how it went if you did. Or any suggestions on best ways to get from one airport to the next?

Gatwick->Stansted is not the best of transfers. The 'direct' National Express coach takes typically 3+ hours as it goes via Heathrow. Going into and out of London by discount bus may be cheaper but is unlikely to be quicker.By train it is around 2 hours - go to Victoria by Southern or the Express, Victoria line to Tottenham Hale and Stansted Express from there. Through tickets similar price to NatEx.

Larissa, I hope you have at least 6 hours between your scheduled arrival at Gatwick and your scheduled departure at Stansted. Getting through immigration/passport control at Gatwick can take up to one hour. If you miss the strict check-in deadline on whichever budget airline you are flying out of Stansted, your ticket will be worthless and you'll have to buy a full fare ticket on a later flight. Unless you have 7 or more hours to play with, taking the train-Tube-train combination given by Marco is the only option that will work for you. For most departure times National Express buses are scheduled to take around 3 1/2 hours. At certain times of the day there are 2 buses/hour, but at other times there is only 1 bus/hour. If you just barely miss a bus, you could have to wait an hour for the next one. Trains runs every 15 minutes.
