We are taking a small coach tour, Rabbie's Tours, with the last stop of the day in Bellinzona to visit the castles. The tour will then travel to Milan to end and drop us off at the Hotel AC SESTO. From that hotel, we would need to get a taxi to our hotel at Malpensa MXP Airport for our flight out the next morning. My research finds that we can board a train, the S50, at Bellinzona, and have a two-hour direct route into the airport, much cheaper than a taxi from Milan and probably faster. The tour can't delay the other guests to make a special drop-off, which I understand, but we would already be stopped at Bellinzona. Any advice from those of you with experience in this area.
This is trivially easy. Just go to the station in Bellinzona, buy a ticket to Malpensa and take the train. BTW, S50 runs jointly with S10 from Bellinzona, so you do need to pay attention which part of the train you board, as it is split en route.
See www.sbb.ch for times. That train runs every hour.
Your research is correct, and as WengenK mentions, it is very easy. More information about the route can be found here: https://www.tilo.ch/en/collegamenti/S50.html
Thank you for your confirmation of my research. You are the BEST. I have used this forum for twenty plus years of European travel, but this is the first time I posted... have learned so much and picked up great tips over the years.
