Easiest and most economical way from CDG to Hotel in Paris

Hi,

We're traveling to Paris in March. I'm wondering what the easiest and least expensive way to get from CDG to our hotel is. It's my third time there and I'm okay with the Metro, but not sure of the cost involved with the RER. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm curious about this as well. I'm fine with taking the RER/Metro (I need to get to Odeon station), but I wonder about the Air France bus just for greater convenience (I know it costs a bit more). Anybody know if the AF bus goes to/near Odeon? Merci.

I guess you'll have to tell us where your hotel is located.

Yeah, I guess the hotel info would help. Sorry. We're staying at a hotel relatively close to Gare du Nord. Thanks.

Easiest is not necessarily the cheapest. But I use the RER regional train service....under 9 Euro pp to any RER station in Paris, including Gare du Nord. There are stations at CDG terminal 2 and in between terminal 1 and 3....all connected by the new driverless shuttle train, the CDGVal. From Gare du Nord, you can plan your transfer to the Metro to your hotel if it's not within walking distance....your RER ticket will allow you to transfer onto the metro.

A single ticket on the RER B from CDG to central Paris costs €8.40. It includes unlimited transfers to other RER lines and/or Metro lines until you exit the system.

Margie....You're a little closer going thru Gare du Nord, but it may end up being 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. The Air France bus stops at the Charles de Gaulle-Etoile metro station at the Arc de Triomphe, so you'll need to make one transfer on the Metro.....and Concorde. That's the same as from Gare du Nord....transferring at Gare de L'Est. I always seem to get caught in traffic jams when I arrive at CDG...that's why I prefer the train.
