Earliest train from Paris to Caen to make a tour?

Hi Posters~

My soon-to-be husband and I booked a two day D-Day tour in Caen on August 16th. I saw that a poster in March stated that there was a 6:42am train from Paris to Caen however I can't find that schedule on the Rail Europe site. Our tour guide needs us to meet her at the D-day museum at 9am. Does anyone know the time of the earliest train from Paris-Caen is and the best way to make it to the D-Day museum from the Caen rail station?

Thanks for your help!

Erika~Looking at the Deutsch Bahn site (see Favorite Links above), I found a train that leaves at 06:42, arriving in Caen at 08:46. It's not a TGV but the comments state, "Please Reserve". You should be able to buy a ticket that day or a couple of days ahead. The next train is at 07:12 arriving at 08:58. You might make it to the Caen Museum by 09:00 but if the guide is adamant that you arrive on time, you might consider staying the night before in Caen.
The RailEurope site doesn't list all the trains that are available for some reason which is very annoying.

Thank you for that tip. Could you tell me how you found those times? I can find the departing time in Paris of 6:42 but that train arrives in Caen at 10 something. Thank you again, that was really helpful!

I bought my tickets from Paris to Caen on the www.sncf.com

RailEurope is a pain in the butt because they don't list all of the trains, they're overpriced, they charge an exhorbitant amount for shipping.

We purchased our tickets far enough ahead of time that we got the PREM tickets at a big discount.

Erika,

Depending upon the day of the week, departure times can be different. For Saturday, 16 August, the earliest departure time is 08:10 with arrival in Caen at 10:18. On weekdays you can depart at 06:42 and arrive in Caen at 08:46. It looks like you'll need to spend Friday night in Caen.
