E Mediterranean Cruise

I need some help in finding a cruise for October 2012 which will visit Dubrovnik, Ephesus, and Istanbul. I prefer to depart Rome or Athens, but not required.

This is or was a Holland Am cruise out of Rome for about 10 days that hits those ports. We were on it a couple of years ago. Opps, just noticed the Istanbul requirement. We did not do Istanbul.

I like vacationstogo.com; it's an online travel agent. Their search engine is pretty logical, their prices are the same as all the other online travel agents and I haven't had a problem with the (three so far) cruises I've booked through them. Be sure to take advantage of additional discounts for military, police, fire, Texas resident, etc. if they're available. I did a custom search for all three stops during October 2012 and found a half page of choices ranging from just under $2,000 to more than $6,500 per person (12 to 37 days). When you have something you want to take a closer look at, cruisecritic.com is a great place to review ships and destinations. I usually shop by ship. I find the management of the particular ship makes more difference than the line. I'm not an early booker. I watch prices to give them a chance to go on sale before I book. Sometimes, however, that can be risky. I booked a Baltic cruise last summer and got one of the last three cabins on the boat (as well as the last two side by side seats on the flight). Hopefully, that won't be as much of a problem sailing in October. On Caribbean and Mexican cruises, waiting saved me hundreds per person from the already discounted prices that were available when I first shopped.

Carl We have taken a cruise several times on Costa. They do both stops on the 1 week cruise. It left from Venice. So we went a few days earlier to take it all in.
Costa is the equivalent to Carnival but for Europeans. So you will hear every announcement in 4-5 languages. I posted a a review on Cruise reviews on Nov/09 for the Costa Mediterania ship. Enjoy.
