What is the best way to get around Dublin? We arrive from Paris a day early for our RS Ireland tour so we will have most of that day to ourselves and the next morning. What sights (not covered on the tour) are within easy walking distance of the Harding Hotel? What major sights will need a bus? We know we want to visit the jail, Merrion Square, and the Georgian House.

Try the hop-on, hop-off bus tour. The full tour takes a little over an hour and goes to all of the major sites. You can get off and see the area, then get back on when you are ready. The ticket is good for 24 hours, so you could ride the whole route once to hear all of the commentary and decide what to go back to, then ride again and stop off here and there.
Merrion Square and the Georgian House tour are in the same place, just a short walk from Grafton St. Kilmainham is a good distance off, so you would need to take a bus to get there.

The town is not really that big, I never bought any bus tickets...
