Dublin Public Transportation Wiz?

I'm failing at figuring out the public transportation in Dublin before my April 2011 trip. Has anyone used the bus, Dart or LUAS in Dublin? Recommend a good walking map? Thank you.

There isn't too much to say. It is a really basic system, nothing like the complexity of other European cities. Plus everyone speaks English. Unlike other cities, not much prep required, just show up and figure out as you go. Buses are the most comprehensive form of transit. The trams and trains are a nice supplement, but they aren't the backbone of the system, like they are in other cities. Where in Dub are you staying and where are you trying to go? Believe me, if you can figure out the BART, the DART is nothing.

In addition, most of Dublin city center is walkable. You'll only need public transportation if you are heading to outlying areas like Kilmainham Gaol, one of the 'burbs, or the airport.

There's a route planner on the Dublin Bus website. It's pretty helpful. The drivers (that I've found) are friendly and helpful, too, so if you ask when you get on for them to tell you when to get off, they'll do that for you.

Nancy, I do need it from the airport to Lansdowne rd. So, if you could recommend a good way to get from point A to B, I'd appreciate it. I won't be using a taxi.
