Dublin Pre-clearance question

Is there an 'express lane' for those with biz class tickets? ( no, not rich, used miles not $)

This would be a LHR-DUB-SEA journey.

I know another option is to get Global Entry.

Thank you

I've never seen a US immigration facility anywhere with a priority/fast-track lane. Nor one entering a European country, I think. I have seen them and used them in Asia. I occasionally fly up front but have only gone through pre-clearance in Dublin with Global Entry.

I wonder if they have GE's little brother, mobile passport, there...?

There is a priority line for the US portion of security screening for business class customers. It's essentially TSA pre-check, although I don't distinctly remember leaving my shoes on and the 3-1-1 bag in my carry-on. The line is MUCH shorter than the general security line and can make a huge difference by getting you to the immigration line much earlier. There's a not too obvious sign which directs business class fliers to the priority line.

There is no "fast track" lane for immigration. The only way to get you through quicker is with Global Entry.

In Dublin, you will "pre-clear" US Customs. Yesterday, this involved waiting in a line for approximately 25 minutes to have your boarding pass scanned and access the stairs/escalator to the actual pre-clearance area (everyone - global entry, first class, clear, etc.- waits in this line). At the bottom of the stairs/escalator, on the right side of the entrance lines, there is a separate line for first/biz class passengers (but not global entry). They also use this line to quickly move the multitude of passengers that are about to miss their flights after waiting in a long line because of the ineptitude of the US government. You will have to go through security (shoes off, bag scanned, liquids/electronics out), which is redundant if you entered the airport from outside a secured area. Then you will wait in another line to show your passport to a US border agent. It is US bureaucracy at its best (more Soviet era than anything).

That’s interesting salfonse. When I went through Dublin airport on our way home with my granddaughters this past July, there was a separate line for Global Entry. I had it, the girls did not and they arrived at the waiting area about 5 minutes after I did so no real difference in wait time. Maybe they don’t feel as if traffic requires an additional line now that summer is over. Going through immigration at the Dublin airport was such a n unexpected and surprising pleasure and much better than going through the process in Newark! I’d love to see more of this in European airports.
