Dublin Flight: When to buy for late September? any new trends?

It's the same old question- when to buy this flight? My fiancé and I really would like to see Ireland for our honeymoon in late September. Flying from the US (Kansas City) to Dublin. We're pinching pennies and obviously the most difficult thing to control is the flight price. We're also Europe newbies and I have heard of the 30-60 day bracket. Last August it was $746 for that Sept '13. But it's creeping up in price right now. I wanted to know if anyone has any advice (I know there are no guarantees) and if that recommended bracket is still good or if there are any new flight trends anyone is aware of with pricing.

Also, if anyone else has regular advice for Ireland in the last weeks of Sept- I'm all ears! :)

Thank you

Right now it is $844 leaving midweek. That ain't bad. If you can live with that, I'd jump on it now. The worst that can happen is it could drop another $50. On the other hand, who knows how high it could go in the future.

That flight for less than nine hundred is good price. Suggest you also consider flying into Shannon, rent car there and eventually work your way around to Dublin. Called open jaw flying. It is much easier to get used to driving on the left side from Shannon. If you do that, drop car off in Dublin as you do not need car in Dublin. Also highly suggest you get the Ireland tour book as it has many good tips, especially for first timers. You can also call the Irish Tourist Bureau in NYC and they will send you great information. Once you get your flight nailed down and had a chance to look at tour books, come back to this website and will get great tips and helpful advice.

Thanks everyone- we took another look at our budget and decided if history bears out we could save some if we wait but could end up paying a lot more if we wait too. So we went ahead and got our rates and no looking back! :)

@ REblee00,

Great. when i took my first trip overthere, i was on the fence when to buy too. I monitored the price for several months before i realized, it probably wasnt going to get any better unless they had some type of glitch.

i monitored the prices weekly for my trip last year and noticed that the price jumped up 2x+ the few weeks before my trip.

If youre going to make a habit of going over there, you now have something to compare again your future travels.

happy trails.
