Dublin Airport and Aer Lingus

Is the Dublin Ireland Airport as chaotic as the on-line reviews say? Does it have a transit area if you are not entering Ireland, but simply changing planes? Is Aer Lingus service decent for the seemingly low fare from California? What about intra-european flights?

I have flown on Aer Lingus three times from Chicago to Ireland. They are one of my favorite airlines for international travel. The food is good, the seats are comfortable, and I've never been delayed or lost my bags. I haven't changed planes in Dublin, so I can't speak to that, but I have both arrived and departed from Dublin several times. I didn't find it particularly chaotic -- of course, I was coming from O'Hare, so maybe my view is a bit distorted. :) You can print a map of the airport from the Dublin airport website, which can be a help in getting around. Perhaps you can tell from that if there is a transit area.

I can only say good things about Aer Lingus! No idea about cost though as my experiences with them have always been through Company Deadheads. If you got a good deal to fly with them, that's FANTASTIC!

IME, the Dublin Airport can be hectic but you'll manage! It also largely depends on the time of day you are arriving. Sometimes I've arrived in the late evening and sailed right through! Other times, like early morning when traffic is at peak, it can be another story!
But I gather you are only there for Equipment change?(Changing Planes) You will be fine! Just don't stray too far or stay too long in the WC! (That's especially bad for women! We usually have to line up!)

It's probably no better or no worse than any other when it comes right down to it! You'll love Aer Lingus!
