We will rent a car at the Toulouse airport and drive north on the A 62. Can anyone give me any helpful advice for not getting lost. It does not look easy from Google maps

Good advice from Jane about having some euros for the autoroutes. The car rental agent will certainly give you a map with the route marked for you to get to the A62. Fear not and Bonne Route !

We drive alot in France and now only use our GPS. Are you taking your car Back to Toulouse? If so then put a marker down at the airport rental office so you can return your car easily. I would put a marker on the GPS for the area you are going or the first stop you will be making. If you will not have a GPS... and it is really wonderful...you will need for the rental car place to give you a map to get you on theA62. Is that the A62 or the A6? The rental car places generally can get you a map and show you how top get to the interstate or toll roads. If you can... have some euros for the tollways. We always have a bag because we fly into Paris first and drive south on the A6 from Orly.Ziplopcks are wonderful. Have a great trip. We love driving in France. Get on some back roads and have a picnic. The roads in France are wonderful. Their reststops are interesting... someone should write a book.We were afraid for years to stop at them, but you can buy almost anything at them.

Try the directions on the Via Michelin site. You will have maps for each step of the drive. It will show you for example that you will reach the A62 via the A620 on leaving Blagnac The routes are well marked. Michelin even tells you where the flic is watching with cameras, travel times, etc. My only complaint is that the Michelin directions have too many step by step steps. The traffic about the airport can be very slow.
