Driving in Spain - from the coast to Ronda?

Hi -

From the map, A-397 from the coast to Ronda looks pretty curvy. Is it a decent road? We'd actually be starting from Tarifa, if there's a better way. Thanks!

Yes it's curvy, but a very nice road. Well paved, signed, fenced and marked, nothing dangerous or scary about it, i actually found it quite fun to drive. It also runs trough a national park so the scenery is nice, though it was foggy when i drove it this winter.

' if there's a better way' - a different way is take the scenic train journey from Algeciras.

Took it last fall I believe for a day trip from Arcos to Tarifa. If it is that road it was curvy, but nice. That entire region is wonderful to drive through. Be sure to stop at Valdevaqueros Beach, just north of Tarifa (10 miles maybe...)
