2 quick tips that I learned on a recent trip to France. When using a GPS, be careful when you punch in the name of the town that you would like to go to. Frequently multiple towns have the same name only in different regions. Our GPS simply noted the difference with a 2 digit zip code. Also, most gas stations (off the major highways) are closed on Sunday. The offer automated payment, however none of my US credit cards were accepted.

For future reference, the automated fuel pumps in many European countries typically only work with "Chip & PIN" credit cards these days. That's been a frequent topic of discussion here at times. The same is true with the automated train ticket machines at CDG airport.
Good point regarding the GPS.
