We just got back from a driving trip in France. Paying tolls was pretty easy. We were able to tap pay with our US credit card almost without exception. Exiting the autoroute in Amboise, for some reason the card reader didn’t work and I had to use cash on that one occasion. It’s definitely always a good idea to have some coins and currency available just in case.
