Just wondering if anyone has driven from Sarlat in the Dordogne region of France to Provence (St Remy, near Avignon). If so, any advice as to the best way to go.
It's a bit of a haul. Drive to the A20 Autoroute and follow the signs to Toulouse and then Narbonne. You'll be right by the Med when you get there. The drive the A9 past Montpellier and then Nimes. From Nimes, it's a little tricky on smaller highways, but you'll want to go to Tarascon and then St. Remy. It's actually easier to get to St. Remy from the eastside but the drive is longer.
Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of going the more direct route, not on the main highway (which I know is the quickest way to go). Have you ever done the drive through Albi & Millau?
No, but I've gone from LePuy to St. Remy. Beautiful, but very slow. Would love to see the bridge in Millau, though. Take two days and do it!
