Driving from Orly to Giverny

I'm making a decision to drive from Orly to Giverney on route to Normandy beaches. Do you suggest driving or train from Paris? What is the best route from Orly?

I like having a car in Normandy. You can see what you want to see and go at your own pace. Driving in that region is easy. You can find driving directions between any two points in Europe at viamichelin.com

Skip the mapping software, which will probably put you too close to Paris and slow you down. Pick up the A86 as soon as you clear the airport. It'll eventually become the N12 which you'll take to the A12. Essentially, you're ducking south of Versailles until you get west of it before swinging north. The A12 dead-ends on the A13/E05. Take it about twenty miles/35 kilometers until you see the sign for the Vernon/Bonniers exit (one city has a green sign, one a white, but they're both overhead), cross the river and hug the right bank until you get to Giverny (maybe five miles after you get off the freeway). If it's not an early morning arrival, you can go ahead and use mapping software/gps, but the route above is probably faster anyway.
