Driving from Liechtenstein to Zermatt

Has anyone made the drive from Liechtenstein to Zermatt (Tasch)? If so, could you tell me how it was and any suggestions. We are making the drive in May.
Thank You

Never driven that route but have been to both. I hope your expectations are low for Lichtenstein, we were underwhelmed. If you are doing it for a "check off another country", fine, but there's little there that is not in Switzerland, better. Frankly slightly underwhelmed by the train into Zermatt, too; the last 20km or so is relatively uneventful. Swiss autobahns/autoroutes/autostrada are uniformly excellently maintained with plenty of excellent tunnels. Make sure you reduce your speed to the posted one in the tunnels and put your lights on. You will need to be sure that your car has the required CHF40 Vignette for driving on Swiss motorways. If it hasn't you can get it from the border. If you are coming into Switzerland from Lichtenstein you may be coming from Austria or Germany and transiting Austria. If so you need the Austrian Vignette too, even if its just the 15km or so between Germany and Switzerland around the eastern end of the Bodensee.

Kristy, if you are doing this trip in late May you should ABSOLUTELY consider going through the jaw-dropping mountain passes around Andermatt. I bet it could well be your most awesome road driving ever through the Stuten, Grimsel and/or Fürka road passes 9000ft high surrounded by glaciers in the background.
