We plan to drive from Dingle to Dublin and would like to visit the Rock of Cashel. One option is for us to stay overnight nearby or in Kilkenney and then continue on the next day. The other option is for us to stay one night in Kinsale and visit the rock during the day or the next day on our way to Dublin. Does anyone know how long it takes to drive to Dublin from Kilkenney? From Kinsale?

Go to www.viamichelin.com. Enter your departure point and your destination point. You'll get a suggested route, the distance, and the estimated time. The site tends to underestimate driving times in Ireland. Take what it gives you and increase it by 50%.

The best train timetable site for virtually all of Europe is www.bahn.de. After you enter departure and arrival points, you will get summary timetables. Click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points, if any. Use European spellings for cities: e.g., Firenze for Florence, Koeln for Cologne, etc.
