Takes about two hours or a little more. Some rather high tolls on the way. You may not want to take your car on the boat as it is fun to walk and bicycle on the island. Have a great time, it is truly an escape.

The toll for the Great Belt Bridge is DKK 215 one way, the bridge's website is here: http://www.storebaelt.dk/english
Be sure to use the correct lane when approaching the toll plaza.
The ferry from Svendborg to Ærøskøbing costs DKK 175 per person round trip. If you want to bring the car, the price for a round trip ticket is DKK1026 roundtrip including driver and 4 additional passengers. All prices and timetables are on the ferry company's website:
