Driving from CDG airport to Versailles and then on to Bayeux

Use www.viamichelin.com. If you do it during the same approximate time of day (in France!) that you intend on traveling, it will show routes and times with current traffic conditions. as good an estimate as you can hope for.

If this is happening after an overnight flight from North America, many of us would caution you about driving that first day, with jetlag and inadequate sleep. Versailles can be exhausting just by itself. If you're sure you can handle the drive there, consider making that your first night's stop and go on to Bayeux the next morning when you're fresher.

Hi, I failed to mention we will be flying in from Prague that morning, not the states. From what I understand we will need to drive around the perimeter of Paris in order to get to Versailles, and hopefully not thru Paris! It will be about 12:30-1:00PM when we pick up our car and drive to Versailles. I’m hoping a few hours there to visit and then drive on to Bayuex. Thank you so much....Paula

Hi Paula, I am planning on doing exactly the same route, driving from CDG to Versailles and then Normandy a couple days later and I am wondering how did that work for you? My main concern is CDG to Versailles. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. Paulo.

Hi, we decided to go to Giverny to see Monet home, Gardens, etc. on our way to bayeux and go to Versailles when we left Bayeux to overnite at the CDG airport. We did end up with GPS in the car for extra 10 euro/day. We also used WAZE for directions, it worked out great. Actually the driving was easier then I expected. Also, when you get to tolls just use a credit card, go to the lane that has a “t” on the sign. I’d be happy to give any other suggestions.....have a great trip!...Paula
