Driverso - has anyone used this service (formeryl called Vroomerz)

My family is going to be in Italy for two weeks this Fall and we need to rent a large van. We are flying into Bologna and will use the van to get around Tuscany and then drive south to Sorrento where we will drop off the car. Unfortunately, none of the other car services I found will let you drop a car off, especially a large van, in Sorrento, so we are going with Driverso. This company used to be called Vroomerz.

My question is simply, has anyone used this car service? If so what did you think and would you recommend it? Did you carry your own insurance CDW and theft or did you use Driverso for this service? Also open to any other ideas of how to get from Tuscany to Sorrento (as a stop over for a trip to Capri). The other options must avoid the Naples train station which is the only place I have been pick pocketed in Italy.

Thanks for your help!

I have not done this, but there are direct Frecciarossa trains from Bologna to Salerno. The trip takes about 4 hr. 45 min. On weekdays there's often such a train departing Bologna at 27 minutes after the hour, but check trenitalia.com for your travel date. Driving would take much longer, and a large van would--I imagine--be terribly difficult to maneuver in traffic and park on and near the Amalfi Coast.

From Salerno I believe the usual route to Sorrento or Capri would be by ferry, probably with a transfer required in Amalfi. That part of the trip will not be fast, but it is said that the best views of the Amalfi Coast are from the water, so those ferry trips should be very scenic. And Amalfi is worth visiting, too. Just check on the luggage-storage options ahead of time.

I'm sure you could put together a bus routing from Salerno to Sorrento, but that might be too much bus time for your group, or part of it.

Driverso and Vroomerz are both news to me. If you trust them I hope they have a really good reputation.

We were going in the opposite direction, but after visiting Naples, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast using just public transportation (and very glad we didn't have a car), we rented at an Avis in Salerno, drove up to Tuscany for a week, then returned the car to the airport in Rome. I agree with someone else's comment that it would make sense to rent two small cars rather than a large van. It will probably save money, and also, you don't want a large van in the small Tuscany towns and villages. The streets are narrow, the parking spaces small. In addition, having two cars opens up the option for your group to split up and choose different activities on a particular day. Our rental was last October. For an intermediate 4 door car, 7 day rental, we paid $636 USD, with the "one way" fee shown on our invoice as -0-. When we picked up the car in Sorrento, the proprietor was concerned about whether we'd fit all our bags in the trunk without a struggle and he gave us a free upgrade. Our rental car experience with Avis was excellent!
