Has anyone here used a private driver to transport them between cities in Italy? Rick's website recommends it to save time. We want to travel from Rome airport to an apartment in Florence. Sorrentolimo.com looks promising; has anyone else used their service, or another one that they would recommend? Thank you.

Well, no one answered my question, so we went ahead and called Sorrento Limo. They do not service all the way to Florence. But, they referred us to a great company I thought I would post about: Chianto Arvaldo Travel. http://www.chiantivaldarnotravel.it/ing/index.html They picked us up at the Rome airport, meeting us outside of the customs exit door with a sign with our name on it, then dropped us off at the door to the apartment we rented in Florence. It was about 425 euros. (I checked with another limo service that I found on line and they cost over twice as much). They were great! Alberto speaks excellent English and also does private tours (including winery tours) in the area. If you ever want or need a private driver for anything in the Florence/Tuscany area, we highly recommend them. Ciao,
