My boyfriend and I are traveling to Italy next April, and we really want to do some wine tasting off the beaten path. We aren't really interested in large bus tours, and don't want to rent a car for a day of tastings (for safety reasons) so we are considering hiring a driver to take us around Tuscany for a day of tasting.
Has anyone done this before? Could you recommend a service? Should we originate our day from Florence or a different city? Any reccomended wineries?

I would suggest driving.Rent a car for a few days in Tuscany.Driving there is very easy and scenic.It also lets you go where and when you want to.
Jack, thanks so much for your reply and suggestion! We considered renting a car but because we are tasting wine we decided that we should probably have a driver so that we can both enjoy the vino!
Do have an American Express card? If so call their travel services department and they can fix you up with a car and driver. I have done it before.
