This is a follow up to a post on the packing forum I made a few days ago. I'm posting here because I thought I might catch the attention of people experienced with flying KLM. According to their website, the 26 lb weight limit for KLM carry on baggage is the combined total weight of carry on bag and personal item. If you have flown KLM with carry on baggage, could you please verify that this is the case? Are the two items weighed together? How and when does this happen? My carry on is well under the 26 pound limit, but I am concerned about total weight of the carry on and small day pack. I'm also concerned that my scale at home may not be exact, so I want to know as much as possible about the rules and procedures ahead of time. Thanks!!
