Flying from Las Vegas to Frankfurt this summer and I see they have a very low carry-on weight limit, 13 lbs. I'm just wondering how strictly they enforce it, as we are packing Rick style with one carry-on each weighing more like 20 lbs. We get a free checked bag each, but we would like to avoid checking our bags if we can. Anyone fly out of Vegas with Condor recently with any reports? If they bust you at the gate with an overweight carry-on, do they charge you to check it from the gate, or just count that as your one free checked bag?
I usually do check my bag, especially when it's free, so I'd take advantage of the opportunity at check in.
We flew Condor last July from Seattle to Frankfurt and yes, they did weigh our carry-on bags at the check-in counter when we got our boarding passes. Both were just over the cabin limit so they were checked for free. No problems though with my husband's backpack and my messenger bag as both were well under the 13 lb. limit and those went in the cabin with us under our seats.
