Does anyone have experience flying Aer Lingus? JFK-Rome

I've been able to find a flight on Travelocity for our trip to Rome in September. It is on Aer Lingus and it cost $705.00 round trip. Flies out of JFK to Dublin with connecting flight to Rome (1 hr 55 minute layover.) On the way back, same deal. While JFK is a little out of the way for us, this is a great price. Been doing some background checking on Aer Lingus. It appears to be a budget airline which is currently having some labor difficulties resulting in cancelled flights. It's created a dilemma, do I go for the cheap-o flight and worry about cancellations, etc. Does anyone have experience flying Aer Lingus?

we took aer lingus jfk to london via dublin this past summer. we also live a bit away from jfk. philly is our local airport. we did so for the same reason. round trip tickets for $624 per person. it was a huge savings. we had no issues with booking/cancelations/delays etc. the flight was fine. the seats were comfortable, with personal monitors for each seat. i watched several movies each way. we were served a meal and tea on the way home (on the way there it was a red eye flight, so no tea...thankfully!) my only complaint, though it is a big one, was having to transfer in dublin. we had to go through security twice, and the dublin airport is...i'll put it nicely...unpleasant. we had to be at the gate 2 hours before takeoff even when we only had a 45 minute layover, causing us to have to reschedule the connecting flight. the waiting areawhere we had to wait for two hourswas beyond standing room only. it was like being in times square on new year's eve crowded. if you would like more flight feedback, PM me. and have a great trip, no matter how you get there!

Aer Lingus is not a budget airline by any means. They have been experiencing labor problems, as have others (look out people flying BA). I think you'll enjoy the experience with AL.

I have flown Aer Lingus on all of my trips to Ireland. I have never had a problem with them, their food is good, their staff is great. And, as an earlier poster said, they are not one of the budget airlines. They do have some budget flights, but their service level is far above the budget airlines.

I'd go for it. Aer Lingus is not a budget airline as others have pointed out, but their prices lately have largely been unbeatable. I've only flown them once, but I found it to be a good and comfortable experience.
