Hello, Sure hope you can help me out!!! We are a group of 7 flying out of Marseille on the 17th of September 2013. Going to Lamenzia. We will be leaving Marseille at 11:05 (Air France) and arriving in Rome at 12:20. Trying to get our connecting flight to Lamenzia (Alitalia)at 1:15. We will be arriving and departing from T1 in Rome. #1 Do we have to go through customs? #2 Do we have to get our baggage? #3 Most important!! Do we have enough time to make our connection!! #4 If we miss our connection...do we have to buy another ticket or are we just rebook on the next flight? #5 Or is it best that we forget trying to make the flight at 1:15 and book the next one at 3:55? Thanks for all your help!
Deb
The first question, are the flights part of a single itinerary, or are you buying the tickets separately? If you did the first, you should be OK, if the second, look out. Maybe you can get Air France to tag the bags through to Lamenzia. Should be no customs or immigration.
No immigration nor customs. You are coming from France and going to Italy (all in EU Schengen zone). That's like going from Quebec to Ontario, just warmer. See if they can tag your luggage all the way to Lamezia. AF and Alitalia are partners (AF is the majority shareholder of Alitalia) so they should be able to.
