So I have a global pass which I know I must validate before I get on my first train. I just want to double check that after that first validation, I can just board the next trains that I need to without doing anything? Also, I do have reservations for the trains that required them (most of my Italian trains). Do I need to validate these in the yellow boxes everyone talks about? Or can I still board a train I have a reservation for without doing anything? Thanks!
If you have a ticket/reservation that is train/seat specific, then it does not need to be validated because there is nothing to validate. If you miss the train, the reservation is invalid. It would be the same if you held a ticket for that train.
Richard - see Frank's answer above. Reservations and seat reserved tickets do not need validation. Only general seating tickets require validation. So Michelle needs only to validate her pass before her first use. Then when she has a seat reservation there is no validation and when it is general seating she just has her pass and no validation.
