Do I need a railpass for an Elipsos train hotel trip Milan - Barcelona?

O wise ones,

I've purchased & received my tickets @ $314 for a two-bed cabin for a trip in May...do I need a railpass too?

Also, I booked the cabin all the way to Barceloa, but we will want to detrain at Figueres to visit the Dali museum instead of completed the trip as ticketed. Will that cause any problems.

Thanks!
Chris

If you've purchased tickets, there's no need for a pass. I don't know where you purchased your tickets, but as long as you didn't tell them you just needed supplemental sleeping accommodations to go with a pass, then you're OK.
If your tickets say Barcelona, the conductor will assume you're getting off there. No problem with getting off in Figueres, but let the conductor know so he can let you know, and be prepared to get off quickly...it's not a long stop.

Thanks Norm-

I booked it on RailEurope; the price posted for "Reservations for Pass Holders" was the same for "I know the cities I want to travel" so I didnt specify that I was included it with a pass figuring it would just burn a rail day unnecesarily.

After further research, it seems like buying point-to-point tix is a better idea for our mostly Italy-based trip.

If you booked it under "Reservation for pass holders" that means that it is just the accommodation portion and you will also need to use a day of the rail pass (assuming the train doesn't leave before 7 PM) as well.

Since you will write in the second day of travel (the date of travel on the night train after midnight), you will be able to use the pass for any transportation that day. If you plan to go on to Barcelona that day, after seeing the Dali museum, you can use the pass for that transportation.
