Do flight prices increase the closer I get to the date? (Within Europe)

I am trying to use Ryanair to get from Paris to Dublin. I would rather wait until I get to Europe to choose whcih date I leave, but will booking my flight now save me a heap of money? Thank you!

With the budget airlines it is better to book earlier, yes. Watch for fare sales, too, which could save you a bundle. Generally speaking, the closer you get to departure date, the more it costs.

Just make sure that you have a Euro in your pocket to use the loo. :)

Both trips I have taken I have found the price generally increases. There have been times when they have had sales such as Easy Jet and it was cheaper but yes the general rule is the earlier you can book the better.

Love the low cost airlines but be prepared to be treated like cattle!

All discount airlines have been trained in the American science of "load management." As a general rule the fare will increase as you approach the flight date. There will be exceptions from time to time but it is nothing you can count on.

A study last year showed that that 87% of the time, the fair you see is the lowest one you will see. 13% chance it will drop.

I'd get my Ryainair tickets asap. I waited a couple weeks back in 2002, and wound up paying about $200.00 per ticket, when it was $50.00.

PS - Ryanair's so cheap, buy tickets for both dates. ;) grin
