Discounted Business Class tickets on-line

I read mixed reviews about using on-line brokers for deeply discounted biz class seats to/from Europe. If you’ve used them or had friends who did, what’s your advice?

This scam comes up all the time. There is no such thing as a "discounted business class ticket" that you can buy from anyone other than the airline. None. That simply does not exist, because airlines don't sell business class tickets that way. Ever.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is either a scammer or unaware. What are commonly sold are tickets purchased with someone else's frequent flyer miles - which is a violation of the airlines' loyalty program. Airlines take a very dim view of anyone involved (including victims who have bought such "discount tickets").

Any tickets you obtain that way are considered fraudulent by the airline, and if they discover you have one, they won't be kind about it (it's easy and obvious for the airline staff to see this - a mismatch between the name of the ticketed passenger and the Frequent Flyer account where the miles came from is obvious and easy to see in all their systems, from the gate agent to flight attendants). Typically the gate agent will deny you boarding and simply void your "ticket" leaving you twisting in the wind, with no ticket and no recourse. If you want to get where you're going, you'll have to buy a same-day ticket on the spot (which is pretty expensive).

As one member here often says, "there is no business class ticket fairy."

Book directly with the airlines! Ignore the scams! Nothing more needs to be said.

Always book directly with the airline itself.
Not Expedia, not Kayak, not Jim-Bob’s Discount Travel Service…….if it sounds too good to be true…….🧐
