For those who may be able to take advantage of this, American has announced that beginning next May it will offer seasonal non-stop service from Philadelphia to both Prague and Budapest. The flights will leave Philly around 6:30 PM and arrive around 9 in Prague and 9:30 in Budapest. Return flights will leave both at a civilized 9:30 or so AM, arriving around 4 PM. They will be on Boeing 767s. These will run appx May 7 to Oct 72. They are also re-basing their direct Zurich flight from JFK, this will now fly direct from Philadelphia. Also they are adding a Chicago-Venice direct flight.
Thanks for this update. Venice, Budapest, and Prague have few nonstop flight options from North America, so more options is always a good thing!
When will Seattle get direct flight to Prague?
Can't help you with that, Ilja. We live outside Philadelphia. Partly because of the proximity to the NYC and DC airports, we have only 15 airlines at best serving our airport, and some only minimally. The overseas options are particularly limited. This year the price competition has been very poor here. Getting this option here is exciting for us.
More good news. LOT will be flying direct from Chicago and NY to Budapest next summer. Or bad news, as with so many flights maybe none will be profitable and all service stops?
