Desperately seeking Train info!

I am so confused. While reading the below, please bear in mind that we want to take majority night trains.

Two of us would like to start our trip in

  1. Rome by rail to Asti or Turin at night

  2. Asti or Turin to Dijon (Vezelay)at night.

  3. Dijon to Marseille (night or day not sure what is avail).

  4. Marseille to Rome airport (night).

So I get this Eurail pass for France-Italy four stops saver pass, than what? What about this reservation? Where do I do this? At the train station? And where do I get this validated?

Sorry utter confusion.

There is a night train from Rome to Torino Porto Nuovo that leaves at 21:16 (366 Montecarlo).

There is a night train from Torino Porta Susa to Dijon that leaves at 21:18 (220 Stendhal).

Note that sleepers on night trains often book full early. I'll let others advise you on the saver pass.
