Desperate Student on a Budget!

I'm overwhelmed with all the rail travel options there is to choose from, and I need some advise!
I'm taking classes for two weeks in Podova, Italy, and while I'm there, I'm going to check out Venice, Rome, and maybe Cinque Terre.
After that I'm traveling with another girl for an additional 17 days (minus one day for travel to the airport).
We have a pretty rough itinerary, mostly ideas:
Padova, Italy
Berlin (might be too far) for 4 days
Amsterdam for 2 days
Bruges for 1-2 days (just watched that Colin Farrell movie, but this stop can be cut out)
France, Paris, and another city in Southern France, any suggestions? for 5 days
Barcelona 4 days, flying home on the 5th day from Barcelona

Any tips or suggestions about those, or different regions or cities to visit or my time would be appreciated!! It's just us two girls, 23 yo, looking for night life, scenery, museums, beaches.

I was looking into the Eurail Select Pass for 5 countries ($395-455), the Eurail Global Pass for 15 continuous days ($469) or 10 days w/in 2 months ($555), or just buy individual tickets to each destination. Money is definitely tight, and anywhere I'm able to cut is great!

I appreciate any advise or tips from you guys!
Oh yeah, and I'm leaving in three weeks..eek

That helps alot. I'll start adding up those point-to-point tickets and compare. I'm 23 so the eurail pass is pretty inexpensive too.

Thanks!

Trying to compare passes vs point-point tickets without having a tentative itinerary is like comparing apples to monkeys. No one can tell you for certain which will be the best; every case will be different depending where you are going. The only way to evaluate point-point vs a rail pass is to have an itinerary and do the math.

I realize that. I was told by someone that point to point is usually cheaper for having a small amount of travel days, but, in my case, that's not what I'm finding. I'm looking for a rough estimate. And going off my current itinerary I'm, hopefully, finding some answers.

I'm only looking for advice, and possibly tips on some other great places to visit.
